This is a popular chocolate chip recipe that originally came from Alton Brown. I used a slightly different recipe from Allrecipes and added pecans and used bittersweet chocolate baking chips since I had some leftover from here. This cookie is so good!

The Chewy with Pecans
Adapted from Allrecipes
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter (1.5 sticks), melted
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
1 egg
1 egg yolk
2 cups bittersweet chocolate baking chips
1 cup pecan pieces
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
2. Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
3. In a medium bowl, cream together the melted butter and white and brown sugar until well blended. Best in the vanilla, egg, and egg yolk until light and creamy. Mix in the sifted mixture until just blended. Stir in the chocolate and pecans using a wooden spoon.
4. Drop cookie dough onto prepared sheets using a medium cookie scoop. Cookies should be about 3 inches apart.
5. Bake for 15 to 17 minutes, or until edges are lightly toasted. Cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
