It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown! Who doesn’t love that movie? This week’s Sweet Melissa Sunday recipe reminded me of it.
Our host for this week was Debbie of Everyday Blessings of the Five Dee’s. There has been talk about a pumpkin shortage and there was at least one baker who could not find canned pumpkin. After a couple of stores, I was able to find a shelf full.
The cookie cakes and cream cheese filling were easy to make and tasted good as well. The recipe called for molasses to go in the cakes, but I used pure maple syrup since I already had it. I was looking for a little more spice since that is what is in the title, but I didn’t get the punch I thought I would. The one thing I did forget was to sprinkle the Confectioner’s sugar over them for the picture.
